The opening of a junior hockey tournament in Goderich will host some of hockey’s most coveted stars and trophies.
The 72nd Annual Young Canada Week is set to open Friday, March 10th at Goderich’s Maitland Recreation Centre.
Town officials say the event will recognize the lives of four NHL alumni born in Goderich: Larry Jeffrey, Gary Doak, Jack Price and Al Dewsbury.
Also on display will be several hockey trophies, including:
- Frank J. Selke Trophy (Best Defensive Forward)
- Presidents’ Trophy (Best Overall Record)
- Conn Smythe Trophy (Most Valuable Playoff Player)
- Clarence S. Campbell Bowl (W. Conference Playoff Champion)
- William M. Jennings Trophy (Best Goaltender With Fewest Goals Against)
