An OPP canine unit is being praised for tracking down a suspect — and their discarded drugs — in Wingham.
OPP say they initiated a traffic stop with an SUV on Kerr Drive, before the driver fled from police, drove down a dead-end road, and skidded into a guard rail.
According to reports, the driver then fled on foot, being chased shortly after by Valor, a 7 year old German Sheppard and member of the OPP.
Officers say Valor tracked the suspect to a garden shed on Josephine Street, and sniffed out a package of suspected methamphetamine, which was discarded.
A 28 year old is facing fourteen charges, including flight from police, and possession of a schedule 1 substance.
