Red onions distributed by a popular restaurant supplier are being recalled.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Sysco is recalling red onions imported from the U.S. Due to possible Salmonella contamination.
They have been sold in mostly western provinces including BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario — but the CFIA says their investigation continues and additional recalls could follow.
Food service establishments, institutions, retailers and distributors and manufacturers should not serve, use, or sell the onions.
The onions are Imperial Fresh brand jumbo red onions, in 10 lb and 25 lb packages imported since May 24th, 2020
