Beaches were swarmed with people in many parts of the province over the weekend, which is not what officials wanted to see.
Beach areas were off limits for a long time due to COVID 19 and now one of the most popular beaches is tightening restrictions again.
Sauble Beach – and other small beaches in the area – have now been temporarily closed because many beachgoers were reckless over the last two weekends according to Town of South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson.
Jackson says 91 tickets were issued in total recently, and though they wanted to have the beach fully open to people on the long weekend, it looks like that will not happen now.
She says their community has remained virus free through this, and they want to keep it that way.
