Goderich and Mitchell Face Elimination in PJHL Playoffs

Regional | by Peter Jackson
The Flyers and Hawks trail their respective best-of-seven series 3-0, heading into Friday's action

The quarter finals in the Provincial Junior Hockey League's Pollock Division could be short-lived for two teams, if the Goderich Flyers and Mitchell Hawks can't find a way to win.

Both clubs trail their respective best-of-seven opening-round series against Kincardine and Wingham, three games to none.

The Flyers have been shut out in all of their first three games against the Bulldogs, while all three match-ups between the Hawks and Ironmen have been close.

Goderich hosts Kincardine in Game Four of their best-of-seven at the Maitland Rec Centre, Friday night at 8pm -- Mitchell faces off against Wingham at the Wescast Complex at 8:30pm Friday.

Hanover may also be in for an early exit, having been outscored 6-2 and 8-1 in their first two games against Walkerton.

Game Three in that series goes at Walkerton Arena, Friday night at 8:30pm.

First-place Mount Forest has a bye from the first round.
