Huron County | by Fadi Didi
Warden, Huron-Bruce MPP meet to look at progress of Trillium grant for Community Living-Central Huron.

Election officials met to learn about the ways a provincial grant is benefitting respite services in Huron County.

Community Living-Central Huron received a two-year, $111,900 grow grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation in 2017, to enhance respite options along Ontario's West Coast.

Officials say their goal is to reduce social isolation for 100 children, youth, adults and their families/caregivers residing in Huron County.

County Warden Jim Ginn and Huron-Bruce Progressive Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson, and officials with the Huron Respite Network met to discuss respite options in the region.

“Respite” is a periodic and planned, short-term break for family members who are the primary caregivers of a person with a disability.

Over 50 families on the waiting list for respite in Huron County.
