A report has come back, detailing how the Avon Maitland District School Board can be more inclusive, particularly of those with developmental disabilities.
Researchers at Brock University spoke to faculty, administration, students, teachers, assistants, and community members in the study.
The study found students and parents wanted better collaboration from schools on achieving both academic and social goals.
Feedback from teachers included better communication with other faculty on the needs of students, as well as time to co-plan and collaborate with one another.
School administrators suggested more attention and support for training and resources, while community members asked for enhanced communication among agencies, the school board, and families.
