Goderich Deputy-Mayor Jim Donnelly hopes to remain on Goderich Council after the municipal election this fall, but as a Councillor.
Donnelly told Council Monday that he will seek election as a member of Council, running for one of five positions.
He says town Council is where his heart is, and that he could better serve ratepayers without splitting his duties with those as a member of Huron County Council.
Donnelly and Mayor Kevin Morrison currently represent Goderich at the County table.
Donnelly has held the office since 2014, when he defeated then-incumbent Deputy-Mayor John Grace.
